The beginning of this devotional really touched my heart when it says against such there is no law. cementing the truth in the fact that there is only one way and that is God’s way.

I am my own therapist and mostly look to my elders for good examples and for guidance emulating their good ways. The rest of the time I talk to the Father above and after reflection I say “Let your will be done on Earth as it will be in Heaven when I arrive.

Emotions are powerful, most will will attack you with words to destabilize the way you feel. I wouldn’t know how to add to this beautifully elaborated devotional. It was more of a confirmation for me to not give in to my emotions and always be under control.

Control my emotions, not give in to sin for the sake of retaliation, stay focus on my goals and leave the rest for God. For come Judgement day the Evil doers will see us sitting on the right of the Almighty.

I used to believe that emotions were a distraction from proper decision making because “emotions don’t think” and enjoy your emotions, just don’t let them enjoy you! During a counseling session, I told the counselor this…. he helped me see it in a different light. He said, you know that “gut” feeling you get sometimes? Ask yourself, why do I feel this way? Essentially this is a neurological response because there is a network of neurons lining our stomach (gut)! Usually this is a subconscious response to something you are not able to understand or clarify yet. This is God’s design in your body telling you to dig deeper, ask more why questions. These might also be called “Red Flags”. If you sense a “Red Flag” in a situation or decision…. stop and find out why! You will be glad you did. It is not unusual for the Holy Spirit you prompt you in this way.

This type of response usually kicks in when you have a moral or ethical dilemma or notion that you should do something. If you ignore it, you risk compromising your ethics or morality or even an opportunity to do works of righteousness as simple as picking up a piece of trash. You know the right thing to do… but if you ignore it you miss the opportunity that could have a long-term impact on you or others around you.

Regardless of what you do… always seek the solution of peace…. when you do, you may start to see that ulcer you’ve developed due to stress start to heal.

I’ll finish with a couple verses I continually use to temper my emotions and be guided by the Spirit.

1 Thessalonians 5:19 Do not quench the Spirit.

James 4:17 If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.
