What a great coaching moment…. read it again! What does it say? Repeat 3x
Belief is an internalized non-meritorious action (which has external results)
Salvation is too simple for many to “believe” we tend to think we have do something or jump through a hoop, do enough good deeds prior to this step to be “good enough” to receive this GREAT GIFT…. the scripture said “BELIEVE” full stop. Just like we don’t have to get cleaned up before we take a shower… come as you are.
Romans 5:8 ESV – But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us
Eph 2:5 – even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved
What you do next is referenced in other scripture…
Cults will tend to upsell and add to this simple truth which deludes the all powerful and complete saving work of Jesus Christ on the cross. We are not saved because of what we do but because of in Whom we Believe.
The fruits of our actions AFTER that belief bear witness to that belief.
