In this week’s episode, Patrice talks to Sandra Yager, Superintendent of Cornerstone Christian Academy in Battle Ground, WA. Sandra Yager is an experienced educator from Argentina who has dedicated her life to both education and her Christian faith. After earning a degree in Mathematics from CONSUDEC in Argentina, she moved to the U.S. at age 22 after marrying her husband. Sandra’s career began as a math teacher at Jason Lee Middle School in Vancouver, followed by a role as Assistant Principal at Skyview High School. She later became principal of the Vancouver School of Arts and Academics (VSAA).
In 2000, she transitioned to the Hockinson School District, helping to establish a K-12 district and open Hockinson High School in 2003. Sandra’s leadership was pivotal to the success of the school, and she is deeply respected by her community and staff. In 2010, she became principal of Monticello Middle School in Longview, a low-performing school, and worked to improve student outcomes.
In 2011, Sandra returned to the Hockinson School District as superintendent, a role she held for eight years. After 25 years in public education, Sandra was called to Christian education, where she now serves as a leader at Cornerstone Christian Academy for Learning & Leadership. There, she focuses on preparing Christian servant leaders and working with the board to expand the model of the school to benefit communities nationwide.
Together, they talk about the Young Biblical Entrepreneurship Program and its impact.
